Wilson Applauds Local Teacher for Unique Approach to Fundraising

April 11, 2013) Simcoe-Grey MPP Jim Wilson was pleased to stand in the Legislature today to applaud Wasaga Beach elementary school teacher, Mr. James Carson, for his crusade to rollerblade 2,200 kilometers across the province to raise money for the Canadian Cancer Society.

“On his own initiative, Carson has begun fundraising for what he anticipates will be a several week long journey during the summer of 2014,” Wilson said.  “He will travel from Kenora and make his way back to Wasaga Beach where as I understand he will receive a final police escort from Constable Mark Kinney on his return.”

Wilson was impressed with Carson for his unique approach to fundraising and taking the initiative to make the selfless journey.  He praised the local teacher for supporting such a worthy charity.

“Without question, Carson’s upbeat approach to fundraising has gained him an admirable reputation throughout the community and province,” said Wilson. “I know I speak for all members of this Legislature in congratulating him on giving so much of himself to such a great cause.”

Wilson was happy to lend his support to Carson and his outstanding effort. For more information about the journey or to follow his progress please visit Carson’s Canadian Cancer Society webpage www.convio.cancer.ca/goto/rollacrosson or facebook pagewww.facebook.com/RollAcrossON
