VIDEO: More support for expansion of Alliston hospital

(October 21, 2015) Simcoe-Grey MPP Jim Wilson, in the Ontario Legislature yesterday, introduced more signed copies of his petition calling on the government to fund the expansion of Stevenson Memorial Hospital in Alliston.

The petition, containing signatures from residents across New Tecumseth, was sent to Wilson by the BDO Canada office in Alliston.

The hospital redevelopment project – when it does finally go ahead – will involve a new emergency department, operating rooms, diagnostic imaging and laboratory.

Stevenson Memorial was built in 1964 for just 7,000 visits but today experiences more than 33,000 visits each year.

Copies of Wilson's petition are available at the hospital and at the Alliston constituency office and at a variety of businesses throughout New Tecumseth. People can also print off a copy by visiting
