Wilson Launches Petition for the Redevelopment of SMH
(July 22nd, 2015) Simcoe-Grey MPP Jim Wilson has drafted a petition calling upon the Kathleen Wynne government to provide the necessary funding so Stevenson Memorial Hospital can proceed with the planned redevelopment of their emergency department, operating rooms, diagnostic imaging and laboratory.
The petition urges the government to take notice of the challenges the hospital deals with to support the growing needs of our area within its existing space, which is an issue that will escalate as the community continues to grow and age. To give you an idea of the problem, the current emergency department at Stevenson Memorial Hospital was built in 1964 for a mere 7,000 visits and experiences in excess of 33,000 visits annually.
Wilson is encouraging constituents to visit his website at www.jimwilsonmpp.com and print off hard copies of the petition to circulate amongst friends and neighbours so that he can continue to show the Kathleen Wynne Liberal government that the community is united and serious about the redevelopment at Stevenson Memorial Hospital.
Since original signatures are required, completed petitions can be dropped off to Wilson's Alliston constituency office at 180 Parsons Road.
