MPP Jim Wilson Wants to Hear From Local Businesses
(March 27th, 2014) Today, Simcoe-Grey MPP Jim Wilson launched his 2014 Simcoe-Grey Business Survey. Wilson is seeking feedback from local business owners about provincial issues affecting their business and to find out what government reforms would help their business grow.
“It’s always a good idea to take stock of where we are with a view to how we can do better,” wrote Wilson.
“In Simcoe-Grey we are lucky to have hard-working people, productive farmland, thriving tourism, strong industry and many well established businesses. However, the cost of doing business in Ontario when coupled with provincial government policies and regulation can have a big impact on the success of our companies.”
Last month, Ontario PC Party Leader Tim Hudak introduced jobs legislation entitled the Million Jobs Act. If passed the legislation would create an average of 125,000 jobs per year over eight years and includes such reforms as ensuring affordable energy, cutting red-tape, training more skilled workers to meet the demand in the trades, increasing trade and lowering taxes. More information about these reforms can be found at www.millionjobsplan.ca .
“I want to hear from businesses on provincial issues impacting their company, including whether legislation such as the Million Jobs Act would help their business grow,” said Wilson. “I hope businesses throughout my riding will take the time to complete the survey. Their feedback will allow me to better advocate on their behalf at Queen’s Park.”
The survey can be found on Wilson’s website or can be picked up at either of his constituency offices.
