Medical Labs Update - December 8, 2010(December 8, 2010) Dear Constituents: One down, two to go. I wanted you to be the first to know that lab services will be returning to Tottenham on a permanent basis.
This afternoon the president of Gamma-Dynacare came to Queen’s Park, in person, to let me know that they will be returning lab services to Tottenham. Final details still need to be ironed out, like location, hours and timing, but the commitment to re-open Tottenham is firm and I’m confident that we’ll see services return in January.
Gamma-Dynacare is also working hard to find ways to better help elderly
patients and those in need of priority care, which I was also very happy
to hear. We’ll make sure that final details are communicated with you.
I want to thank Gamma-Dynacare for their commitment to Tottenham. From the moment I first spoke with their officials, they made it abundantly clear to me that they would address the challenges and put the needs of my constituents first, and they never wavered from that commitment.
Make no mistake about it, we’re making progress.
What is unfortunate is that it’s night and day between how Gamma-Dynacare operates compared to LifeLabs and the Georgian Bay General Hospital.
Yesterday I highlighted some of the problems with LifeLabs in a press release. You can read a copy of it by clicking here . Expect to hear a lot more from me in the coming weeks about Stayner and Elmvale.
In closing, thank you so much for your ongoing help and support. We’re not done yet, but we’re making progress. Please keep sending me petitions, letters and emails. They really help me.
