VIDEO: MPP Wilson attends Wasaga Beach Chamber of Commerce Awards and Recognition Ceremony

September 11, 2020 - Simcoe-Grey MPP Jim Wilson was among the attendees at the Wasaga Beach Chamber of Commerce 2020 Annual Awards and Recognition Ceremony.  In light of COVID-19, this year’s event was a virtual occasion. 

"The Wasaga Chamber has been a leader in going digital," said the MPP, "This kind of innovation helps strengthen business and, as a result, it strengthens our community."

Among those recognized by the Chamber for 2020 were:

- Business of the Year: The Signature Sold Team

- Young Businessperson of the Year: Katrina Ruttan, ReMax of Wasaga Beach, Inc. Brokerage

- Academic Excellence Award:  Laura Vanderlek

- New Business of the Year:  JWJ Construction

- Service Club/Not for Profit:  Georgian Triangle Humane Society

Mr. Wilson congratulated local businesses and organizations for their perseverance through the COVID-19 pandemic.  "Your service to our full-time residents, and to our seasonal visitors, is what keeps Wasaga Beach the vibrant and exciting community that it is," he said.  "I am confident that with your continued participation and hard work our town will emerge from high water levels and COVID-19 stronger than ever," he added.
