Ontario autism consultation is underway

(May 1, 2019) Simcoe-Grey MPP Jim Wilson wants parents of autistic children to be aware of a province wide public consultation process being conducted by the Ontario Government beginning today, May 1, and continuing until the end of the month.

The series of consultations includes telephone town halls, an online survey and an email campaign. The objective is to determine how children and youth with autism, including those with complex needs, can be better supported. Consultations will also help the government develop a new needs assessment process and approach to support children and youth with complex needs.

“I have received close to one hundred emails, letters and phone calls from constituents concerned over the Government’s recent changes to autism,” said Wilson.  “I am pleased to see the government is engaging in a consultation process, and I urge anyone interested to participate.”

More information and instructions on how to register for one of these sessions can be found on the Government’s website, .
