Minister's Wilson and Yurek in Angus to discuss Ontario Tree Seed Plant

(August 29, 2018) Yesterday, Simcoe-Grey MPP Jim Wilson and representatives from the office of Minister of Natural Resources and Forestry were in Angus to tour the Ontario Tree Seed Plant. Following the tour, MPP Wilson and Minister Jeff Yurek, who participated by teleconference, met with industry experts and local advocates to discuss options for the facility moving forward.

 "Premier Ford and I made a commitment during the last election to review the previous government's decision to close the Ontario Tree Seed Facility. We intend to follow through on that promise," said Wilson. "I would like to thank those who attended the meetings and for their participation"
Minister Yurek also provided comment: "As the Minister of Natural Resources and Forestry it was important for me to sit down and listen to the concerns of the community," said Yurek. “Our government is here for the people of Ontario and to make sure we’re consulting them in order to make appropriate decisions
Included in the meetings were representatives from Somerville Nurseries, County of Simcoe, AWARE Essa and Friends of the Utopia Gristmill and Park.
