Wilson thanks Minister Yurek for honouring commitment to review Ontario Tree Seed Plant closure

(July 18, 2018) On Tuesday, the Minister of Natural Resources and Forestry, the Honourable Jeff Yurek, announced that he will review a decision made by the previous government over the closure of the Ontario Tree Seed Plant in Angus. Simcoe-Grey MPP Jim Wilson thanks the Minister for honouring a commitment he and Premier Doug Ford had made during the election.

Minister’s Statement Regarding the Ontario Tree Seed Plant
 
Toronto – Today, the Minister of Natural Resources and Forestry Jeff Yurek released the following statement:
 
“After hearing concerns related to the closure of the Ontario Tree Seed Plant and consulting with my colleagues, I have directed my ministry to review the closure decision.
 
We will be taking the time to hear from stakeholders, including sitting down with the tree nursery industry and other interested parties as part of this review.
 
I am committed to taking a closer look at the details of the situation and making sure decisions are made in the best interests of the people of Ontario.”
