Wilson congratulates Dr. Shazia Ambreen
(March 7, 2017) Today in the Legislature, Simcoe-Grey MPP Jim Wilson was pleased to recognize Dr. Shazia Ambreen, an Alliston physician who was recently awarded the College of Physicians and Surgeons of Ontario Council Award for 2017.
Wilson attended the awards ceremony in Toronto where Dr. Ambreen was presented the award on March 24th.
“Dr. Ambreen, who grew up in Pakistan, is a valued member of the medical community in the south end of my riding. She is a physician and anesthetist at Stevenson Memorial Hospital. As well, she is chief of family medicine at the hospital, and president of the Professional Staff Association,” said Wilson.
Wilson continued his remarks with acknowledgements from others in the community, including Dr. Richard Simms.
“In my 36 years in medicine, I have seldom come across such a well-rounded physician. She is a good collaborator, works well with others, is very good at resolving conflict, maintains effective relationships, and communicates with her colleagues, nursing staff and patients with respect and dignity,” said Simms.
Wilson concluded by thanking Dr. Ambreen for her commitment to health care and congratulated her on receiving the award.
