VIDEO: Wilson thanks Wasaga fire fighters

(November 22, 2016) This afternoon in the Ontario Legislature, Simcoe-Grey MPP Jim Wilson delivered a Member’s Statement thanking Wasaga Beach firefighters for the important role they played delivering a baby.

“Mr. Speaker, I rise today to share with the house a very special story that involves the members of the Wasaga Beach Fire Department, as well a local family,” Wilson said.

“Early last Friday morning, a couple from the east end of town pulled into the town's west end fire hall, knowing they wouldn't make it to the Collingwood General and Marine Hospital delivery room. The firefighters are trained for this type of situation and quickly sprang into action.”

Wilson added the two firefighters on duty - Jamie Murphy and Jason Martin - did a tremendous job.

He said what transpired is a wonderful story that showcases the terrific skills of local firefighters.

“It reminds us of the very important job that these brave men and women do in our community. We owe them our sincere gratitude,” Wilson said.
