MPP Wilson introduces Remembrance Week Act

(October 27, 2016) Today in the Legislature, Simcoe-Grey MPP Jim Wilson introduced the Remembrance Week Act, a bill that is jointly sponsored by Liberal MPP John Fraser and NDP MPP Cheri DiNovo.

"If passed, the bill expands the scope of the Remembrance Day Observance Act, 1997 to proclaim the week preceding Remembrance Day in each year as Remembrance Week," Wilson said, adding he is grateful the government and the Third Party are supporting the legislation.

Remembrance Week will augment Remembrance Day, which will continue to be held on November 11 each year.

Wilson said the people of Ontario must never forget the extraordinary courage and profound sacrifice made by the men and women who gave their lives for Canada in wars and in peacekeeping operations.
