Liberals snub request to meet with Stayner man
(October 25, 2016) Today in Question Period, Simcoe-Grey MPP Jim Wilson asked Premier Kathleen Wynne if she'd meet with Stayner resident Brian Torrie to explain why her government has created such a mess of Ontario's electricity system.
However, the premier dodged the question and referred it to Energy Minister Glen Thibeault, who did not answer Wilson's request.
"Mr. Torrie wrote me and asked if Premier Wynne would meet with him to explain her government's mishandling of the electricity file. I asked the premier today but she wouldn't answer. And neither would her energy minister. I'm very disappointed the government did not give a 'yes' or 'no' answer to Mr. Torrie. I find that terribly disrespectful," Wilson said.
Like thousands of other Ontarians, Mr. Torrie finds the province's skyrocketing electricity rates completely unacceptable.
