Wilson celebrates grant funding with Trillium recipients
(August 5, 2016) MPP Jim Wilson was pleased to help local organizations celebrate new Trillium funding on Thursday.
Wilson joined representatives of the Gibson Centre in Alliston, which received a $75,000 grant.
"I am delighted to see the Gibson Centre is receiving this grant money. It will help develop artistic programing for children after school, as well as those attending summer camp. These types of programs are so very important as they help youth develop a variety of valuable skills that will serve them well throughout life," Wilson said.
The MPP for Simcoe-Grey was also in Collingwood, where the Blue Mountain Foundation for the Arts received a $39,300 grant.
"Congratulations to the Blue Mountain Foundation for the Arts. This grant money will help improve the foundation's building, ensuring it's a place that can continue to serve the artistic needs of our community for many more years to come," Wilson said.
The foundation also received a grant for $18,700.
"This funding will help the foundation develop the Short Tales festival, which will enrich the cultural lives of people in our community. I want to extend my best wishes to everyone involved in this endeavor."
Grant money is from the Ontario Trillium Foundation, a provincial government agency.
