MEDIA ADVISORY: Wilson demands halt to wind turbine project
(April 18, 2016) Putting a permanent end to the Wpd wind turbine proposal in Simcoe-Grey will be the top priority for MPP Jim Wilson on Thursday, April 21.
In the morning, Wilson and local stakeholders will hold a press conference in the Queen's Park media studio, where they will discuss why it's important that this project be stopped. The press conference will start at 9:45 a.m.
"I encourage media outlets to attend so that they can learn why this wind turbine proposal impacts public safety, pilot safety, the Collingwood Regional Airport and the economic health of my riding," Wilson said. "It's absolutely ludicrous the government will allow eight 500-foot wind turbines next door to the airport."
Later in the afternoon, Wilson will present his Private Member's Resolution in the Ontario Legislature. The resolution calls for an end to the Wpd proposal. At least one busload of constituents is expected to be on hand to watch the debate.
