Sensible ideas to get Ontario back on track(Queen's Park Report - January 16, 2012) With over 560,000 Ontarians out of work and a $16 billion deficit that has only gone up since October, it’s plainly obvious that the time for action is well overdue. Since Election Day, the McGuinty Liberals haven’t introduced a single proposal to stem the problem. Given that they are out of ideas, they can gladly have ours. Here`s how Ontario’s Progressive Conservatives would get our province back on track.
The McGuinty Government: A Threat to Ontario's Families
(Queen's Park Report - March 21, 2011) Next week the McGuinty Liberals will present this year’s Ontario Budget. In light of what Dalton McGuinty has done to household finances, nobody should believe a word that he says.
Let’s not forget the 2003 election when Mr. McGuinty said, “I'm telling Ontario families that their taxes will not go up tomorrow or any day under a Liberal government."
Wilson Tables New Tecumseth HST Petition
(October 5, 2010) Simcoe-Grey MPP Jim Wilson has tabled hundreds of signatures in the Ontario Legislature from the Town of New Tecumseth's HST petition. The petition was circulated by the Town after Council voted on June 14, 2010 to oppose Dalton McGuinty's Harmonized Sales Tax.
McGuinty Must Take Responsibility for Eco-tax Disaster(July 16, 2010) What a complete disaster the eco-tax has turned out to be. If you were away last week and missed it, I’m referring to the sneaky new tax that Dalton McGuinty implemented on more than 9,000 consumer products on Canada Day. Let’s review how this disaster unfolded.
For me it all started when a hardware store owner called my office to let me know that he was being forced into placing a 100% tax on the price of a bag of concrete. I had to hear it from a small business owner because the McGuinty government didn’t tell anyone about the eco-tax.
Wilson: PCs Will Scrap 'Eco Taxes'
(July 13, 2010) Simcoe-Grey MPP Jim Wilson reiterated the commitment made this morning by Ontario PC Leader Tim Hudak that if Dalton McGuinty won't scrap the 'eco tax' program then a Tim Hudak Progressive Conservative government will.
"We all care about the environment, but Dalton McGuinty's so-called green policies are nothing more than a tax grab," said Wilson. "The only 'green' he cares about is the green in your wallet."
